Experienced Tower Foreman Position

Sentenia Systems, in Wakefield, Massachusetts, is currently looking for motivated individuals with Foreman experience installing cable and antenna systems on towers, rooftops and other structures throughout New England.

  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Must be able to climb and perform work at various heights of 100+ feet tall, with a 50 lb. load
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical, if required to drive
  • Must be available for occasional travel evenings and weekends
  • Have Basic Computer/Email Skills including MS Office
  • Ability to Use Digital Camera and take quality photos
  • Comtrain certified or equivalent
  • OSHA certification training required. Willing to train
  • RF awareness certifications from a competent provider. Willing to trainStrong Leadership, with ability to lead a team is a must
  • Manlift/heavy equipment operation certification
  • Detailed civil knowledge and experience (including, concrete, cable tray installations, etc
  • Ability to read and understand CD’s Blueprints & RFD’s
  • Industry experience and understanding of multiple carrier standards and procedures (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.)
  • Experience and Knowledge of working with crane operators and crane picks (hand signals, rigging, etc.)
  • Familiarity with telecommunications testing methods, procedures and equipment including strong knowledge of the Anritsu Site Master, RET programming software (ACT Lite, RFS, etc.) fiber testing, ground testing, PIM testing
  • Candidates having all required hand tools to perform the job is preferred


This position is responsible for, but not limited to

  • The Foreman is expected to perform wireless installations as well as test, analyze and troubleshoot problems within the wireless network with minimal guidance for tasks performed
  • Routinely works with all outside installation contractors and departments within the company to complete work assignments on all equipment including but not limited to microwave, antennas, towers, coax cabling and associated equipment
  • Ensure highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld
  • Lead and manage a group of 2-3 crew members
  • Evaluate the job sites and communications equipment
  • Fully test an antenna/line system as required via PIM or Sweep
  • Knowledge of various antenna mounting procedures
  • Interpret the alarm conditions on the network and implement repairs and restoration plans to ensure minimal service disruption and impact to customer
  • Follow detailed method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform installation maintenance of equipment
  • Perform antenna sweeps frequency spectrum sweeps and maintains site configuration data using computer software and digital photography
  • Develop and maintain a positive company image and provide a strong example for crew members for quality, safety and professionalism. Ability to work directly with customer.

Technical Skill:

  • Must have or obtain documented Authorized Climber and Competent Climber/Rescue certification from an accredited institution that meets the federal standards
  • Must have or obtain a First Aid and CPR certification
  • Must have or obtain OSHA Construction 10 HR Safety Training Card issued by the US Department of Labor
  • Knowledge of knots and tower rigging necessary
  • Operate aerial lifts, man lifts, skid steers and aerial platform equipment
  • DC/AC electrical skills

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures
  • Ability to work directly with customer
  • Communicate in person, by phone and radio with managers and co-workers
  • Must work in a team environment on the crew and be a valued member of the team and company
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather
